Simon: Classic, an Ipod Touch And Iphone Application

Simon: Classic is an iPod Touch and iPhone game application. It is available for free in the iTunes App Store and is being sold by Category 5 Games. The latest version (1.11) was updated on April 4, 2010 and includes brighter buttons for higher visibility, more sound options, better CPU speeds, and replays sequences for those who missed it the first time.

Once you download the application onto your desired piece of technology, simply open it to begin using it. Once you open it, you will be sent to the main page. From here, you can hit Start! to start playing.

If you are unfamiliar with the Simon Says game, continue reading the rest of this paragraph. When you begin the game, you will be shown a circular object with four colors on it. The game begins with one of the colors turning on, along with a sound. To proceed, simply tap that same color. The CPU will then proceed to add a second color to the first color. It will play both in order. Follow up after the CPU by touching both of the correct colors in the correct order. The CPU will then add a third color, and you must follow up with the same sequence.

Continue to see how long of a sequence you can memorize before failing. Your high score will be shown on the same screen so you have an idea of what score you need to beat.

In the most recently updated version, you can replay the sequence by hitting the Replay button.

You can also change game options from the main menu. Game options include the speed of the game (Normal, Fast, Faster, Fastest) as well as the sounds (Original, Piano, Digital, Silent) associated with the colors.

You can access a number of other games from the main menu by hitting More Games. Application Review

Simon: Classic for the iPod Touch and iPhone is a great, free application that provides users with a simple, portable little puzzle to help them jog their brains a little. It is quick and easy to access and does not take long to play, so it is perfect for short breaks or when you're waiting in line for something. The simple interface also keeps the game the sole focus without extra clutter. Simon: Classic is a must for Simon Says fans.
